I have a question. I'm a reseller and I put my MB's domain as an ADDON DOMAIN on my personal websites account. What I want to do, is give my MB it's own account/cPanel. Could that be done? it would be the same URL/domain, I just want the domain to have it's own cPanel/account and I don't want to lose all the work that's been put into it.
Just set up urbanmb.com with its own hosting account like you would any other domain.
Please bear in mind that this area you have posted in is for message board transfer requests support. This should be in either General Non-Hack
Related or better yet in The Waiting Room. General Non-Hack Related is actually for non-hack related problems with the xmb software. Moving to The
Waiting Room now.
But, so then i'd have to delete urbanmb.com on my account and then add that domain it to it's own hosting account. then move all the files and what about the database? i'd have to make a new one in it's own cPanel. that won't be a problem? I don't wanna lose anything.
Yes basically what you are doing is a board transfer. So you'll want to backup your files, templates and database. Then set up urbanmb.com's hosting account, create the new database, then transfer your forum files and import your database to the new location. Be sure you keep all the usernames and passwords the same as this will make things a lot easier. Even use the same database name as well. Then lastly you'll need to change the info in your config.php file and then you should be all set.
is that something I can request to be done here? I think that I
saw they cost $10.00. is that something someone who works here would be able to do.
Yes and yes.
Just submit a board transfer request and it'll lead you to paypal. I'll be able to get to it later this afternoon as I'm about to go get a bit of
sleep.
okay. I filled it out and clicked on request, then it said, "sorry we are unable to connect to..." it switched back to the request form before I could finish reading it. So, I don't think it went through, it didn't send me to paypal or anything.
The system has checks that check the user's ftp and hosting access info. Since you were unable to submit the form it means that your server does not allow remote access. So u2u me your ftp info and I'll check it out. If it's correct then I'll add you to a bypass list that will disable these checks for you to be able to submit the form.
oh, alright. I sent you the u2u. thanks.
okay, it worked this time
