FAQ: Removing Header Images - PLEASE READ
One question we get a lot here is "How do I remove the header images in 1.9 (or 1.9.1) and replace them with | like 1.8. Well I've decided to write
a simple tutorial to show you all how to do it so you can do it yourself. Theres only one file you need to edit: header.php. Please take a backup of
your header.php before starting, just incase you make a mistake so you can easily restore it.
Open header.php
Scroll down about 3 quarters of the way, and you will see a line that looks like this:
Without getting too technical, this is the begining of the links array. Every line below that that has $links[] before it will show up in the header
links. Now what you want to do with the above line, is remove this peice of code
For those who dont know basic html, that is an image tag, and if you remove that code from the links line that will take out the image. Now what i've
seen a lot of people do, is just stick a space and a | before or after each link. I recommend you do not do that and continue on to
the next step.
Ok, so once you have removed all the images from the links, find this line which would be right below your last $links[] line.
Replace it with this:
There that's it! now just save and upload header.php and your good to go.
Any questions or comments? Let me know.
