If this would make XMB perfect, I will be willing to give it a go.

The one major problem I have, is that I do not use or view blogs so I have no idea where to begin.

I am assuming each member has there own blogs where they can post to?

What info is stored for each blog? (title?, message?, date? <-- Would this be the time of posting or user entered date?)

Who can view the blogs?
Do members need an option to allow/disallow other members from viewing their blog?

Do admins need to be able to ban members from using the blog?
Does it need a comments feature where members can comment on other members blog posts?

Please provide me with as much detail as possible for what you so desire. Screenshots would be very helpful too ("A pictures worth a thousand words").

I will add this to my things todo.

This would be a graet hack, and I would definitely be interested in it as well because many members of my forum have requested a hack for journals/diaries.

At Fu.ck (a forum) they have a blogging hack, which has a link in the header where you can view the last like 20 or 30 blog entries. That would be a cool addition. You could also have a field in the member profiles where it lists their latest blog entry.

This hack will be alot involved and there is no gaurantee that I will get it done, like the new shop hack (That I am supposed to be working on).

Looking at the links above, especially the invision board one, it will be a complicated hack to write.

I will start by setting up a clean test board and work on the basic file / db structure. I will then require some volunteers to help test it by blogging (Although this will not be for a while yet).

I will then squash any bugs that are found and implement more advanced features.

Admin features
Ban user from blogging
Ban user from admin blog
Delete members blog.
Suspension on blog
Activate members blog

User features
Block members comments
BBCODE and HTML allowed {on or off kinda like signatures}

Like for example lets see its like we're making a new topic and on the blog options members can make their blogs friends only or public.Different updates on blogs can have different options or the users blog can only be for users on the members buddylist.

On the view blog situation,See how this post is made?Except it could be something like where the new topic button is it could be new blog instead and edit blog {where there is new poll} and blog archives in new reply.

On our threads you see the avatar status and everything but instead with the blog hack.You could see the members avatar and the little fields that members can add within the blog system like instead of user registration and all that being there it could have a little information about the member and the mood?

The blog message could be where the members message of the post would usually be and then where the admins IP button would usually be next to that we could have font that says {0}comment.Understand?like the number comments that have been made and then a pop up can be for members comments and then a comment field could be there for members to comment on users blog.

I hope I didnt make everything hard for people to understand.

Heres what I have been thinking, to keep it similar to XMB forums.

The blog page would be like a forum display and each thread would represent a members blog (Good / Bad?). Only the blog owner can post in that thread (Blog) and they have a blog friend list and blog ban list where they can list there friends and people they want to ban. They can then have an option for it to be visible to friend (Users in friend list), viewable to public (Except those in ban list) or hidden (For self viewing only).

This is the first stage I want to get to, and get the viewing privledges working.

I will then work on the comments section. This will load in the same window when viewing / posting and will have the blog entry at the top, followed by the comments. There will be a member option for allowing comments (Off, All (This will be everyone who can view the blog), Friends (This will be the users in the friend list)).

Does this sound close to being what people want?

Do you want the calander where you can click days / months?

Any other suggestions?

This is basically how I made my journal hack.
I made it for a forum that had journal.
Well, there was alot of personal fights at the time, and the people involved didn't want the other people to read their journal.
I have lost the hack since then, it would be great to have it back.

this would be great...i've seen a few xmb sites that have blog hacks that seem to work as extentions of the users profile...almost like a shoutbox commenting system for them only...
