Support Thread Guidelines
When posting for support, could you please ensure you do the following things to make support easy for the staff member that
assists you.
Forums
When posting your support thread please make sure that you post it within the appropriate forum.
If you have trouble with the request system when submitting requests or downloading hacks then you should post your thread in the Request System Support Forum.
If your support issue is related to a DIY (Do-It-Yourself) hack installation you should post your thread in the General Hack Support Questions Forum.
NOTE: XMB Garage DOES NOT support DIY installations of the shop hack. For more information please view the XMB Garage Shop Hack Policy. If, however, your shop hack installation was
done by XMB Garage then you may request support in the Shop Hack
Support Forum.
If XMB Garage installed your hack you should post your support thread in the 1.9.1 Hack Installation Support Forum.
If your question or issue regards templates, style or other general non hack related issues these are to be posted in the General Non-Hack Related Support Questions Forum.
If you do not know which forum your thread is best suited then please read the rules located in each forum and then determine which best suits your
needs. Ensuring you post in the relevant forum will enable staff members to work more efficiently and will help to keep the forums better
organized.
U2Uing Staff
Please make sure you post your support issues in the forums and do not request help from staff via the U2U system. When you create threads your
problem is easier to monitor, plus other people can use the thread as a reference if they have the same problem. Generally most staff members are busy
and your question will be address as soon as possible.
'Bumping'
Bumping is when you repeatedly post after yourself to keep your thread in the forefront when only a short period of time has elapsed. Bumping your
thread will NOT get it responded to any quicker and is considered to be rude and offensive. A staff member will respond to your thread when they have
the time and if they can assist you. Posting ten minutes after you created the initial thread will not be tolerated.
Before Posting
Before posting your thread please take a moment to look at the threads within the FAQ forum.
Hack Development Requests
If the issue or question you are posting requires more than a simple line modification to files and templates then the thread would be better suited
in the Hack Development Requests Forum.
MySQL Errors
Yes, that dreaded unknown error...
| Quote: |
MySQL has encountered an unknown error. To find out the exact problem, please set the DEBUG flag to true in header.php.
|
Posting this message means absolutely nothing to us. It could be a whole array of things, so please do as the error states and turn debug on, then process the action you were originally doing when you
received the error and paste the full error message here. We do not need any efficiency notices or warnings above this message or the performance
notices at the bottom as they are irrelevant. The mysql error will be somewhere in between and will say something to the effect like "mysql has
encountered an error..........". This is where the actual error message will be found.
Your Problem
When you post your problem it would be helpful if you could provide as much detail as possible in your first post. For example, "MY BOARD IS BROKE -
URGENT" as the subject doesn't really tell the staff much about the error. Within your posts you should include the following information.
The error message you received.
What action you were doing.
What file this occured on.
ATTACH THE FILE ON WHICH THE ERROR WAS THROWN!
The url to your forum.
If you provide this information it will be much easier for a staff member to get started and attempt to resolve your problem(s).
Please stick to these guidelines as this will ensure your support is quicker and more efficient.
