I've laid it to rest. There's been virtually no traffic, well there's been traffic just no activity, there's been no requests for days now. Everything's pretty much come to a grinding halt. And with xmbs (Adam) and xmbx (John Briggs), who have been mortal enemies almost since the moment they met, are now jacking each other off and gloating over the demise of this site and with no staff I can't compete. And I won't go back to being free and let these ungrateful, backstabbing users take advantage of me again. As far as I'm concerned the xmb community as a whole is as worthless as two tits on a boar with the exception of a few that I can count on with less than 2 hands. And, Colleen, you are one of the few. Thanks for your support and I'm sorry that I won't be able to help you any longer.

Jim, I wanted to reply in staff forum, but you have demoted me as I was reading the message.
I hurts me a lot to see all our work go down the drain. I have been and remain your supporter, and I understand what you are talking about. I think our biggest mistake was, that we started this service for free from the beggining. That way people got used to the service being free. If we started as paid service from the beggining, then everything would work out nicely.

I just wish that XMBG would not go down just like that.

Well it couldn't have started as a paid service. There were a lot of obstacles to overcome to even get to a point where I thought it was time to go paid. And the time that we finally did we still weren't ready. You, yourself, know better than anybody that the installer crew was nowhere near how I needed it to be. So when we did finally go paid I decided that if I was going to do 85% of the whole operations then I'd just go it alone because I personally had run out of time and the resources to keep going as it was for virtually nothing in return but disappointment and let down after let down. As I said in the private message to you guys no one really has a clue of the toll this whole thing has taken on me. While you guys had the liberty to come and go as you please and take vacations or whatever I was stuck here to do the job. I had no social life, I had very little time I could just take off to relax because someone had to keep the flow going. You all know how much I was here so ya'll had to know, like you, that I occaisionally get sick but I was still here like last winter when my wife and I both had pneumonia. I stayed sick for well over month after she recovered because I was going too hard. If you believe in something you work for it. I believed in XMBG and, like a fool, believed my efforts would give me something back in return besides be stripped clean, kicked in the gut and stabbed in the back. When I pull the plug I seriously doubt I will ever get back online. You get bit twice doing something, but it's a fool who goes back for a third time.

Jim,

I just wanted to say I understand why you are doing this but nonetheless I will be extremely sad to see you go. Not just because I like you doing my hacks, but because I think XMBG as a site stood for something more than just hacks. To me it stood for a reliable, steadfast and hard working staff (you mainly) that you just can't find anywhere else on the net. From the moment I signed up on XMBG you had my trust and respect because I saw exactly the type of hardworking person you were. When you said you would get something done, you damn well did it. I want to thank you for the many hours you spent on my site's message board. I personally have thought alot of things over since I thought you might be closing and I know one thing, if I'm not having my board serviced by you...it won't be serviced by anyone. You're the only one I'd trust with it. (Not saying that any of your other installers weren't trustworthy, but I didn't know them) I also didn't just say that so that you would feel guilty. I can only imagine how hard things have been for you and it is definately time you took care of yourself. You've provided a service that will never be matched and you should be proud that for a good length of time, this awesome site and your work was/is the best around.

I wish you luck in all your endeavors and wish you well in your life. I hope it treats you as good as you have treated all of us.

If you ever decide to reopen (xmbg or another site), please let me know..i'll be a loyal follower til the end..~smiles~..

Damn Shawna! You were the first member so long ago. And with the eventual removal of another traitor, huskysgrl, you became number 2. And you periodic donations out of the blue were always welcome. If more people would have stepped up like you and Splen always did from time to time instead of just being takers and users this all may not have happened.

Yes it is sad that now the support sites are run by a thief and backstabber and a loose cannon who will go off at the drop of a hat. Look how many times he's come and gone over the past 4 years when he's gotten pissed off because of the abuse this community will bestow upon you. But they kiss his ass like he's some sort of god. And I still say his story of his life collapsing earlier this year was nothing more than a sham. Of course, I can't prove it but just a lot of things don't jive. When your life bottoms out you don't spend almost everyday on the internet from a library or cafe. You concentrate on getting back on your feet. And even when things start coming together it takes more time to rebuild than it did to fall apart. His miraculous recovery was just too damn quick. But since I don't know the guy personally and could see firsthand I really can't say. I can only go by what I see. And then there's Adam! Nothing more than a thief. He's enjoying the momentary success because of my efforts and nothing he's done. He stole my database and threw up a site and voila! the rats jumped the ship because it's free. But the downside is the people now have to do their own installs. All that means is way more support for stupidity and ignorance. Just look through the history of this site and all the overwritten work, repair work and whatnot that we had to do and in some cases repeatedly. We did it all here. We did the shit xmbx and xmb/h didn't want to do. And the majority of the members gave great lipservice but thank you's only go so far for so long before they just become mere words. And with most of the staff at xmbx not very enthusiastic about helping or some always saying they will do something and never do and with the most likely increase in traffic and support threads they will fall behind. I can't count how many times people came here after not getting support at xmbx. And then at the thief's site all the staff are inept and from what I've seen are the biggest support posters seeking help. That's really great when the staff can't install their own hacks without problems. Oh and let's not forget hold.my.heart (Angel at xmbs) who's main concern through all the trouble was if hacks were still going to be available. And even while battling several people on several different fronts I helped her when she was having problems only for her to use other people's accounts (sinless.seraph and ladyflash!) to circumvent the downloads restriction so she could harvest all the hacks that I spent years collecting so she could start an installation site of her own. She even tried to solicit members to use their account after subscriptions were implemented. So there you have it. These are the people that will be providing support for the xmb community. Oh and let's not forget James the whiner. He's still crying about me kicking his worthless ass off of this site and still trashing me over at xmbs. And now they won't have me to kick around anymore and I don't care what happens.

Thanks Colleen! The hack requests have never closed. They're still open. In fact, I just received a request. But it states clearly on the form in bold, red print that if you don't intend to pay for the service then don't submit the form. But yet they still do. I've received several requests over the last week. But they ignore the payment page so the request gets ignored. In spite of all I have said they still are trying to get something from me for free. People just don't read, or can't read. I haven't actually figured that one out yet. I even made an announcement last week that people who donate $10 or more would get free installations until the subscriptions were in place. I think maybe 3 people responded. I don't know what else to do.

If any of you know ssmarc you should ask him what happend a year ago this past August to his site and who the suspect was with a perfect IP match. Now this person has stolen my database which means he has all your information. I recommend all who read this to change their access to their ftp/hosting and board. And you should also remove me from your sites as well. He went into ssmarc's site with unauthorized use of my info just like he gained unauthorized access to my control panel to spam all of you about his ripoff site. Still looking out for your protection! :thumbsup:

Hi Wormhole (Jim),

I`d like to thank you for providing this site for so long for so many members to benefit from.

It`s been one of the key sites for development, and community and will be sorely missed by many including me.

Wherever your future lies, I for one wish you peace and hope that you can draw from the positives that you created a hell of a site and a hell of a reputation for providing first class service and first class commitment at a personal cost to yourself, not just financially.

It`s a shame that most will not truly appreciate those facts until the site is no more.

Thanks all. But as I stated somewhere thanks only goes so far before they just become mere words. So on that note I'm making one last effort. While Guldan and I are finishing up some projects the site will remain open, as has been stated already, and the requests are still open. So for anyone who makes a donation of $10 or more will then receive free installs until we get the subscriptions done and implemented. So there's still time for people who care about xmbg and the services we provide here to step up and do something positive. The ball's in your court now.
